FAQs

Cast iron ring burners

Q. There is a gap between the gas tube and the control manifold on my ring burner and I cannot get it to fit tight, is this safe?

A. The gap between the adjusting disc and the inlet of the venturi tube is normal. This gap is required for letting air in for combustion.

General Questions

Q . What is the difference between Propane and LPG?

A. Propane in its pure state is a gas. LPG is not pure propane, but is a mixture of different hydrocarbons. Butane is the main petroleum byproduct that is mixed with LPG. LPG has no odor, and in order to recognize if a leak has occurred, a gas odorant must be added. Ethanethiol is a common odorant added to LPG.

Q. Why is my flame yellow and not blue?

A. Insufficient air to gas ratio. There may be a small blockage such as a spider’s web or an adjustment to air mixture required. Refer to user manual on how to clean or adjust.

Q. Can I use a high pressure regulator on a low pressure appliance?

A. No. To do this is extremely dangerous and can result in not only irreparable damage to the appliance but can cause serious injury to the user. All gas appliances are designed to work on specific pressures.

Q. Do you ship to overseas such as New Zealand or the US?

 A. Yes we do, please make an enquiry with us and we can let you know the delivery costs.
